PRINCIPAL ENGINEER
Ian Sharpe, MSc., P.E.
Ian Sharpe has over 17 years of experience in the design &/ design management and construction supervision of High, Medium and Low Voltage (345kVAC to 24VDC) electrical systems for industrial & utility applications; including single line diagrams, load flow, motor starting & short circuit studies, relay coordination, arc flash analysis, grounding grids, lightning protection, MCCs, motor elementary, breaker & cable sizing and cable tray systems. Experienced with SCADA, DCS, instrument power, and telecommunication distribution systems.
Prior to starting FIAB Engineers Ian held Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager positions at BRIS Engineering and Acciona Energy where he performed power system studies, prepared FEED and detailed design packages for facility upgrades and lead/supervised engineering teams for the design and construction of tank terminals, large process plants and utility scale generation plants.
Ian has been working as an electrical engineer since 2006 having earned his BSc. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2005 and MSc. in Electrical Power Systems from University of Bath in 2015. Ian holds Professional Engineering licenses in Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee and South Carolina.
